| Mr. Taylor has been involved with energy-related matters for most of his working life and has a passionate interest and in-depth understanding of the field of energy. Through his work in general management, R&D, planning, operations, business development and in general energy consulting as well as large and small businesses Mr. Taylor has an unusually broad strategic perspective of energy technology, its markets and related business strategy. He has experience in successful engineering technology start-ups, and has been involved in a number of corporate financings. For a number of years he was responsible for corporate planning and overall business strategy at Westcoast Energy, a multi-business energy corporation. He was centrally involved in establishing two new subsidiary companies and was also responsible for business development and operations for the company's natural gas refueling business. Mr. Taylor has long been actively involved in energy technology strategy and policy matters providing strategic advice, business planning, and management services to businesses and government. He is a past President of the Canadian Institute of Energy, was a member of the BC Energy Council and contributed to the BC Energy Policy Review in 2002. Julian was deeply involved in developing the Canadian Hydrogen Roadmap, and in turning aspects of BC's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Strategy into actionable plans. He has served as Executive Director of the Power Technology Alliance, and worked closely with the Premier's Technology Council to shape the energy technology component of their reports to the Premier. Mr. Taylor is a professional engineer registered in British Columbia and a Chartered Engineer and member of the Energy Institute (UK). |
